Qasida of Breath

The Qasida is an ancient Araibic form of poetry, similar to an ode. Palestinian-American poet, Deema Shehabi was born in Kuwait in 1970. Her mother was from Gaza and her father from Jerusalem. The text of Qasida of Breath evokes her memories of a beautiful land contrasted with the current reality of a world broken by war.
