About Mitchell Covington
Music for Visual Media
Mitchell Covington is an award-winning composer, working in the San Francisco Bay Area. His music spans many genres including music for film, television and video games.
Mitchell’s music combines live and sampled instruments, using the finest musicians, state-of-the-art audio hardware and cutting-edge digital audio software to create vibrant, compelling musical scores.
Mr. Covington has been awarded the Aaron Copeland Foundation Meet the Composer Award, a regional Emmy award and several film festival awards and prizes. His scores have appeared in international film festivals and on prime-time, nationally broadcast television.
Highly collaborative and professional, Mitchell loves to create music that will serve the drama and emotion of visual media.
With degrees in composition and conducting from USC and San Francisco State Univ., experience performing in various bands, conducting and composing for symphony orchestras, plus a deep understanding of today's digital audio technology, Mitchell brings the right combination of skills to any project.
In addition to his composition work, Mitchell is an adjunct professor in the Music for Visual Media department at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
